Goodbye Google Reader

Google again made news. After the announcement of the resignation of Andy Rubin as division leader Android operating system, Google has now revealed will "kill" or stop the service Google Reader and several other products.

Quoted from Slashgear, Thursday (14/03/2013), Google said, although the reader has a loyal user, users of these services has declined in recent years. Hence, the internet giant has decided to discontinue the service was 8 years old.

Google Reader service itself will actually shut down on July 1, 2013. Until that date, Google gives time for the service users to move data to other services RSS feed.

For users who want to move data Reader, Google provides a service called Google Takeout. Reader users can download the data belongs to them via this service. In addition, users can also take advantage of features export / import OPML file contained in the Reader settings.

Besides Reader, to get back to the core business, Google will also close several other services, such as Apps Script, CalDAV API, Google Building Maker, Google Cloud Connect, Google Voice App for BlackBerry, Search API for Shopping, and remixing app Snapseed Desktop for Mac and Windows.

In total, since 2011 ago, Google has closed 70 of their services.
