Chat With Path

Social networking Application Path entered the third stage of reform. In an update released Wednesday (03/06/2013), Path adds instant messaging service which they refer to as private chat.

The existence of private chat, aims to make the path remains the essence of the essence, the social network that is used among close friends and family only. Path to building a quality social networking. This is precisely what makes Path limits the number of friends up to 150 people.

Instant messaging can be used in the Path between the personal and the group. Users can send text messages, songs, sound, stickers, videos, photos and location.

Path seems want to make money from the service by selling virtual items. In addition to free stickers, some are paid sticker that can be purchased within the app (in-app purchase). Path also sell new photo filters. All the new features were only available in private chat mode.

Competition in the instant application business heats up. Path will compete with Line, KakaoTalk, WeChat, which is highly popular in Asia.

Since its launch in November 2010, Path until now only available for the iOS and Android operating system.

The company was founded by Shawn Fanning and former Facebook executives, Dave Morin. Headquartered in San Francisco, California, USA, Path has received funds from individual investors and companies.
